VCU Student Wins ‘Who’s Who’ Award

RICHMOND, Va.–Tiffany Jones , a Fashion Design senior,  is one of the winners for the “Who’s Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities.”

To be nominated, students had to be in good academic standing, were involved on campus and in the community.

Sculptures Unveiled For VCU’s 40th

Statewide Budget Cuts Reach VCU

RICHMOND, Va – Due to a 1.2 billion dollar budget deficit, Virginia Governor Tim Kaine has ordered statewide spending cuts. VCU’s share of those cuts is 5%, which will cost the university $10.1 million.

The VCU Board of Visitors has met to consider a few options: fewer course offerings,larger class sizes, removal of some majors, elimination of some faculty positions, and higher tuition fees.

Last Public Meeting Held for Presidential Search

RICHMOND, Va. — A third and final meeting on November 20th marked the last time the general public will get the chance to meet face-to-face with the officials who will ultimately pick VCU’s next president.

The 17-member presidential search committee is made up of the Board of Visitors, faculty and staff members, and two students. Since its creation in September 2008, shortly after current president Eugene Trani announced his retirement, on-campus Town Hall meetings have been advertised, seeking to gather input from anyone interested in the search.
