Pep-Band Director Talks About The ’09 Season

RICHMOND, Va.–Coming off the disappointing finish in last year’s NCAA tournament, VCU InSight sat down with Ryan Kopacsi, Director of the VCU Pep-band, to see what changes he has in store for this year.

“I can say hands down that this is going to be the greatest season that we’ve had,” said Kopacsi.

Folk Festival Returns to Richmond

RICHMOND, Va. — After close to 185,000 people attended last year, the Richmond Folk Festival is due to return to Virginia next month, and remains free to the public.

Folk Festival Manager Stephen Lecky spoke with VCU InSight about the upcoming event, which will include live music and dance, storytelling, crafts, and food.

In his interview, Lecky explains Richmond’s folk history, why the festival continues to be a popular attraction, and which aspects of the event he’s looking forward to the most.
