It’s that time of year for may VCU students. Some of these students are going to have to come over big obstacles. Some of these obstacles include finishing final exams or fulfilling graduation requirements. However, for some graduating students, landing that first job is one obstacle that continues to linger in their minds.
“Well, I have applied for some jobs and I’m in an internship right now that will hopefully turn into a job,” said VCU Senior Andrew Millon. “I’ve sent a bunch of resumes out and some applications, portfolios and have got nothing back so far. It’s definitely one of the top things on my mind trying to a job, especially a good one.”
Right now, there are some jobs in greater demand than others. Jobfox.com just released a PDF with the latest in demand jobs. The number one job in hot demand right now is software design and development. This job pays between $95,000 and $105,000 per year. Nursing was the second hottest job. Registered Nurses (RN) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) are in great demand as well. Staring nurses get paid between $35,000 and $45,000 per year. The third hottest job is Account or Finance Executive. The job pays between $65,000 and $75,000 per year.
