Two Students Shot Near Campus

RICHMOND, Va.-Richmond CrimeStoppers is offering up to $11,000 in rewards for any information leading to the arrest of the suspect involved in wounding Robbie Berriz, 18, and a fellow VCU student during a botched robbery in the early morning hours of September 26th.

Both students were hospitalized after the attack on the corner of Goshen and Broad Street, and reported a struggle with the suspect when the firearm was discharged.

The incident occurred not long after VCU Police released a crime report for 2007 showing 26 robberies, 75 burglaries, and 182 larcenies in the campus vicinity alone.

University police offer bicycle patrol, emergency telephones, and a security escort service on both the Monroe Park and MCV campuses.
